For start allow me a short story. One day a had I call from one of our clients of interactive annual reports. She said that I should send to them as fast as possible all the spreadsheets of the financial part of their annual report to them. And only because their annual report was not published yet (otherwise they could have done it from their web page) I was still able to take from the 365i design tool all the financial spreadsheets in one Excel file. I used three clicks only. And the forth click was used to attach the file into an e-mail I was sending to my client. And she further to their potential new investor. All the excels naturally in their corporate design template.

How is it possible to achieve more satisfaction of your investors and bank analyst by design means? If we leave est-ethic value of design apart for the moment. We have studied and researched the users of annual reports, be that investors or bank analysts in particular. We found that no bank analyst is to be satisfied with the printed version of the annual report. He or she will by the rule need the balance sheets in spreadsheets, usually in Excel.
We’ve also found out that financial departments of companies are already sending the excel files to the banks. So companies are actually using two separate systems, corporate communications are communicating the official version of the annual report and the financial departments have their own files with whitch they operate to satisfy bank analysts.
